The heroes, Elf and Troll have two weeks to find mischeif. And they do at the Magic Pond, where Elf almost drowns by an evil wind. She is saved by the Water Nymphs, who bear her up to safety. The Elf and Troll then travel North toward the Kingdom of Harold the Wise, to obtain his response, the exact place and date of the Summer Celebration on the Ranger Plains. On their way they deliver the fate of Valmarr who was eaten by evil, to his friends, the Ranger Guides, who are gathering up their wild horses on the grassy plains. Childrens books or young readers.
