The book is arranged in the form of a photographic journey which starts in the east on the Black Isle, goes around the Cromarty Firth to Tain then strikes north-west to Inverpolly. From there it tracks roughly south-west through a variety of coastal and inland locations such as Ullapool, Gairloch, Kinlochewe and Plockton before reaching the southernmost extremity of the region around Kintail. Ross & Cromarty is incredibly varied. Whether palm trees in Plockton, oil rigs in Nigg Bay, fishing ports like Ullapool, inland seas like Loch Maree, red squirrels, pine martens, or dolphins, each one makes its special contribution to this wonderful slice of Scotland.
